Enigma Chain Wax
The Enigma product range has been highly tested and developed using various friction reducing elements, below you can read about the 3 main additives we use to ensure that our products deliver the ultimate in drivetrain efficiency.
WS2 - Tungsten Disulphide
Tungsten disulfide (WS2) is a naturally occurring mineral with excellent lubricating properties. It has a layered structure, with each layer consisting of a tungsten atom sandwiched between two sulfur atoms. These layers can slide over one another, providing a low-friction surface that reduces wear and tear on moving parts.

WS2 has a low coefficient of friction, which means it can reduce friction and wear in high-load applications. It also has a high load-bearing capacity, making it suitable for use in extreme pressure conditions. Furthermore, WS2 is highly resistant to oxidation and corrosion, which makes it an excellent lubricant for use in harsh environments.

WS2 is commonly used in a variety of industrial applications, including automotive, aerospace, and energy industries, where it helps to increase the lifespan and efficiency of machinery and equipment. Its unique lubricating properties make it an excellent alternative to traditional lubricants like oils and greases.
.
MoS2 - Molybdenum Disulphide
Molybdenum disulfide (MoS2) is a solid lubricant with excellent anti-friction and anti-wear properties. It has a layered structure similar to tungsten disulfide, with each layer consisting of a molybdenum atom sandwiched between two sulfur atoms. The layers of MoS2 can slide over one another, providing a low-friction surface that reduces wear and tear on moving parts.

MoS2 has a low coefficient of friction and excellent load-bearing capacity, making it suitable for use in high-load and high-pressure applications. It can also operate effectively in a wide range of temperatures, from low to high extremes. Moreover, MoS2 is highly resistant to corrosion and oxidation, which makes it an excellent lubricant for use in harsh environments.
MoS2 is widely used in the automotive, aerospace, and manufacturing industries, among others. Its lubricating properties make it an effective alternative to traditional lubricants like oils and greases, especially in high-temperature and high-pressure environments. MoS2 can extend the lifespan and increase the efficiency of machinery and equipment, making it an essential component in modern industries.
PTFE - AKA Teflon
Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) is a synthetic fluoropolymer with excellent lubricating properties. It has a low coefficient of friction and can withstand high temperatures and pressures without degrading. PTFE's lubricating properties arise from its low surface energy, which makes it an effective non-stick coating and lubricant.

PTFE is chemically inert and highly resistant to most chemicals and solvents, making it an ideal lubricant for use in harsh environments. It also has excellent water repellent properties, making it suitable for use in wet conditions.

PTFE is commonly used as a lubricant in the manufacturing, aerospace, and automotive industries, among others. Its non-stick properties make it an effective lubricant for use in applications that require clean surfaces, while its ability to withstand high temperatures and pressures make it suitable for use in harsh environments. Overall, PTFE is an excellent lubricant that can help increase the lifespan and efficiency of machinery and equipment.
